Hi.

So this is me:

Well, okay…that was me.  A long time ago.

I look a little different now.

I’m what people like to call a ‘mature student’, though I confess, I don’t know how fitting the moniker is in my case.  At any rate, here I am, 33 years old, and in my first year of university.  So far it’s been a rather interesting ride.

I still haven’t decided what I want to be when I grow up, aside from happy, but I’m not too worried about it either.  It’s starting to look like I’ll end up working with bugs, wiggly things, or critters of some sort.  I’m a big fan of critters, especially the ones that people think are ugly.  I figure, if everyone is grossed out by them, that’s got to be bad for their self-esteem, and I just can’t resist puppy-dog eyes…not even when they’re on a spider.  Especially not when they’re on a spider.  Spiders are cooler than dogs anyway.

I’m also married.  He’s a bigger geek than me, probably smarter and certainly better looking.  I figure it was my charm or my willingness to laugh at his terrible puns.  One or the other.  Anyway, he’s got a blog with fewer creepy-crawly things, more math and programming, and a far more refined aesthetic over at Small Plum Tree Village, if you’re into that sort of thing.  Me, I’ll stick with my pandas, bugs and bizarre hybrid army.
