I’ve been desperate for a pet for a long time.

I want a kitten, but since Jon’s allergic, I’ve agreed to hold off until we have a bigger place.  In the meantime, I spend a remarkable number of hours each day considering various different pets which I might be able to contain within small spaces.  If anyone out there has any mantis, leaf insect or stick insect eggs, please send them along!

Since we’re finished with the forest tent caterpillar portion of the experiment, I decided to bring home a couple of the caterpillars, in the hopes of maybe getting some interesting footage and photos of caterpillars making and emerging from cocoons.  Meet Ethel and Sid:
