
Adventures with Maggie and Jonathan

Whilst sitting by the lake and discussing the goings-on of physicists and the value of ambition in education, we were visited by a friendly local wasp. Needless to say, the wasp proved more interesting than the conversation.
Paper wasps like this one collect dead wood fibers and chew them up to make a funky pulp, with which they build very cool nests.

Our deck railings are covered in myriad little gouges left by those guys. And awesome nests they do indeed make!
